CAL SMACNA’s 11th Annual Day at the Capitol held February 8th and 9th, 2016 in Sacramento was a huge success. Fifty-four members and children attended and went to 63 legislative appointments educating California’s elected officials on three important industry issues.
Legislators were educated and asked for their support of the statewide school bond: Funding for K-12 Schools and Community College Facilities which will be on the November ballot; AB 626 (Chiu) Change Order Reform bill for local governments; and support for full funding of the Career and Technical Education Incentive Grant program in Governor Brown’s 2016 budget proposal.
It is our member volunteerism that makes this association strong and we are very appreciative of every member who took the time from their busy schedules to attend this very impressive event.
